I received some bad news this morning. Whenever I hear bad news, my mind starts going into "damage control" mode. What can I do to make the situation better? How can I help?
But I can't solve these problems. They are beyond my control. So I pray. I pray that God will use these problems as an opportunity to show His grace, His provision, His power, so that one day these problems will just become part of my testimony.
And I hope that God will grant me enough faith so that one day, when I do hear bad news again, my initial reaction will not be to go into "damage control" mode, but it will be to pray. God will build that trust with me.
